The Bharatiya Janata Party has lost its 3-1 lead in the Rajya Assembly election in Maharashtra, ending a seven-month run of defeats.
The BJP had been trailing in the poll since April and had been expected to win only four seats, which is less than its previous record of eight seats.
However, the party lost three out of the four seats it contested in the April elections, including the seats in Nagpur, Vadodara and Mumbai.
