ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) has announced a two-week offline course titled ‘Emerging Trends in Remote Sensing and Its Application’, which will be conducted by IIRS (Indian Institute of Remote Sensing) at Dehradun campus.
The course is designed for professionals and researchers who are interested in learning about the current and future potential of remote sensing technology.
The course will talk about the emerging trends in remote sensing along with its various applications. Participants will learn an overview of SAR, INSAR, POLSAR, UAV, LiDAR, and hyperspectral remote sensing and data processing, as well as practical applications of using these data.
things to know
- The course will be taught offline through lectures, demonstrations, case studies, field studies and hands-on exercises.
- Professionals, faculty, scientists and researchers (eg Junior Research Fellows, Senior Research Fellows and Research Associates) in Remote Sensing and Satellite Image Processing and related fields can apply.
- Participants should have a minimum of two years of experience in the above mentioned fields.
- The cost of the course is Rs 12,000 — including tuition fees, registration, field work etc.
- Participants who want to stay in the IIRS hostel will have to pay an additional Rs 5,000.
How to apply
- Candidates can submit their filled online application on the official website.
- In case of a large number of applications, candidates will be selected based on such criteria as the IIRS deems appropriate.
Important dates
- Last date to apply for the course is 12 March 2023.
- The list of shortlisted candidates will be available on the IIRS website by 21 March 2023.
- The course starts on 17th April 2023 and will continue till 28th April 2023.
