New Delhi: ISRO is gearing up to launch the second batch of 36 satellites OneWeb As the UK-based company reaches its goal of providing global satellite-based internet connectivity with its rocket LVM3 in early March, reports Surendra Singh.
“An exciting update from our team in India as we confirm the successful integration of our 36 satellites ahead of our upcoming launch with @ISRO and @NSIL_India,” OneWeb tweeted.
Isro’s commercial arm NSIL signed a deal with OneWeb to launch 72 satellites in two phases at a launch fee of over Rs 1,000 crore. The first batch of 36 OneWeb satellites were launched Sriharikota on October 23, 2022.

As Bharti’s lead investor, OneWeb will connect cities, villages and local and regional municipalities in the highest reach areas, thus playing a vital role in bridging the digital divide across India. With each new area covered, OneWeb and its partners can provide Internet connectivity to more unserved and underserved rural and remote communities and businesses, it said.
